The Historic Melrose Inn was built in 1889 and is situated among the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, in the small friendly town of Tryon, North Carolina. When you visit you will step into the past, with a modern twist! The new owner is Marilyn Doheny, a world famous Contemporary Quilt Artist, author, decorator, and gourmet chef!
Marilyn fondly calls the Melrose Inn “The Grand Old Dame” and has been bringing her back to life! The inn has been extensively remodeled, renovated and intimately decorated. Your stay here will be friendly, memorable, comfortable, and inspiring! We serve tea or coffee to your door every morning before breakfast! A hearty breakfast is served daily. And we invite you to sit on our large, social porch any time.
Marilyn Doheny furnished and decorated the inn with hundreds of art objects from her personal collections. It is filled with beautiful and unusual pieces.
It is possible to rent one room for an extended stay* or reserve exclusive use of all facilities at Melrose Inn for your event; weddings, private parties, banquets, or your very own seminar. We are happy to customize our facility and meals to meet your preferences and needs. Discount rooms rates apply for extended stay and week long exclusive use bookings. |
